I would have to say that this product review strikes a special chord with me. You see, a few years ago I worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help a student take a longed for trip to Disney World. About a year or so later we lost an amazing young man, who touched the lives of Everyone he met and INSPIRED all who knew him. I had to deliver a eulogy for him this summer and it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.
This is why when Snapfish asked me to help spread the word that they helping make wishes come true this holiday season through a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. I did not hesitate. I applaud Snapfish for working with this organization.
In support of the charity, Snapfish is offering:
* Customizable WISH! photo books to wish kids and their families to help them commemorate their wish experiences
* The ability for wish families to host their own Group Room online at Snapfish where they can share moments with friends and family, as well as create personalized projects with their photos
* WISH! custom cover photo books available for purchase by consumers at Snapfish’s Make-A-Wish(r) Store, where 30 percent of all proceeds from the sales of the books will go directly to the Make-A-Wish Foundation through Dec. 31, 2010
Snapfish shared with me that they have also helped grant the wish of Michael, a 16-year-old boy from Blackfoot, Idaho, whose wish was to receive a computer to help him pursue his dream of becoming a comic illustrator, animation and computer graphics professional.
Snapfish and HP helped Michael’s wish come true by connecting him with Doug Cole, a former HP employee and award-winning professional screenwriter, and Kari Homan, an HP employee and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho volunteer. The company donated an HP Workstation equipped with Adobe® software. As part of his wish, Michael also met Bill Carmen, a renowned illustration professor at Boise State University, and attended his class to learn more about the world of animation.
“We wanted to offer something unique to both the Make-A-Wish Foundation and to the amazing children it represents,” said Ben Nelson, general manager, Snapfish by HP. “In supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, we hope to help children like Michael cherish and relive their wishes again and again.”
“We are thrilled for Snapfish to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation through its WISH! photo books and online photo sharing Group Rooms designed for our wish families,” said David Williams, president and chief executive officer, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. “Together, we will be able to create lasting memories of wishes for the wish kids and their families to share.”
I know I’m crying too. In this season, a season of miracles and giving, isn’t it great to know that there are people and companies out there who are willing to reach out and help “Make-A-Wish” come true for amazing young people.
In addition to the WISH! custom cover photo books, Snapfish offers more than 100 customizable photo gifts for the holidays, from recipe books to desktop calendars and jewelry to capture your favorite memories and create a gift that means more to your family and friends this holiday. I have ordered photobooks, calendars, and more photo gifts from Snapfish in the past and I love the quality of everything I have ordered. This would give that much more meaning to a gift of a photo book to my aunt. I always make her a book of the kids each year since she lives so far away. Nice to see that it can benefit Make A Wish.

I think I would make a travel photo book, with one or two shots that sort of best epitomize each travel adventure. What a great cohesive ’story’ that would be!
I might make it a travel story book about my dog. She has been all over the country and has visited some iconic sites (the Grand Canyon, Golden Gate Bridge, St. Louis Arch, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, etc.). She is well-traveled and a great model!
