Some people HATE gift cards and some people love them. I love them because I can gifts I won’t return. I usually combine them with sales to make the gift even better. Other people feel that getting a gift card shows lack of forethought from the giver. That’s why you should know the person you are gifting when shopping for gift cards.

It is also important that you read and understand the terms for the gift cards that you buy. Some merchants may tack on activation, maintenance or transaction fees still others have expiration dates. Know what it is you are buying before you buy them.
