Have you honored your parents for what they’ve done well? This year, instead of giving a gift card or some other gift that you might purchase, why not take a few minutes to write your very own letter as a gift to you parent(s) and/or In-Laws.
You don’t have to be a great writer to do this as long as you speak from your heart. Chances are your letter will be cherished for years to come.
If you’re feeling a little more creative than that, here are a few more ideas to turn it up a notch:
* Make a scrapbook filled with pages of photos, memories, and journaling about this person. It doesn’t have to be a full-size 12×12 scrapbook album (though that might be nice too). Mini-scrapbooks and personalized scrapbook pages are quick and easy to put together, yet they’re personalized and will be cherished for years.
* Make a video devoted to this person. It could be simply a slideshow of photos along with some photo captions. Or, it could be a video “letter” that incorporates you and/or your voice talking about this person.
Whatever type of personalized gift you decide to give, just remember: It doesn’t have to be perfect!
In fact, it’s the little imperfections that reveal the real you and all the work you put into this project.
